  Jacqueline Kamin - American Impressionism

An artist's work is to reflect the culture of his time, and so creating a conversation with the viewer is my personal goal. I believe that creating art enables one to make discoveries about the wonder of nature and the dignity and nobility of man. These are given order by art, which enables the viewer to see and understand life with greater depth. Beauty generally results from this order, but is never the primary aim, for not all great painting is beautiful.

I am constantly looking for new relationships among objects, as well as new forms of color. Paintings show us things in our environment that we may overlook or ignore, and I try to make the world around us come alive, as a rich, beautiful and exciting place. My approach to painting owes a debt to the artists who inspired me, especially my friend and mentor, David A. Leffel.
